We did a test run of the new 2014 Half Marathon course. The start / end need to be adjusted from the images below since we will be starting / ending at the top of Lake Minnewaska. This should give you a good idea of how the course will run and the elevation profile. We can’t wait for November 9th!

Volunteers are needed for the Rock & Snow Bridge 2 Bridge 5 Miler hosted by the Shawangunk Runners at Spring Farm/ Mohonk Preserve Saturday August 9th. It’s a benefit run for the Mohonk Preserve. Jobs include course marshals, water stop, registration, finish line, sweep and refreshments. While there may have been some rain I don’t think we could have had a more wonderful evening at Minnewaska State Park. Cool temperatures for July and some wind made for a somewhat chilly evening for some. Heck I was even wearing a jacket and i’m always warm. Hopefully some of you got to enjoy some of the delicious blueberries out on the first half of the course.

Next week is the Series Awards and Fun Run at the New Paltz Rail Trail (Park at Old Dutch Reformed Church, Huguenot Street, New Paltz, NY) This won’t be officially timed so come out and run as much or as little as you’d like.

It turned out to be a pretty beautiful evening at Spring Farm last night with an especially stunning sunset over the Catskills. Thank you all for running “Lou’s Run”. It was great to have his spirit honored by all those in attendance.

We are fast coming up on the Summer Cross Country Series – the first race is Undercliff/Overcliff at 7 pm, Monday, July 7th. We absolutely could use volunteers [4] to work at the water stop, help with registration [3] and to help with the kids.
