Rosendale Runs weather looking perfect!

Registration: http://www.rosendaleruns.org/sign-up-to-run/

With less than a week to go to the Half & 4.4 miler the weather forecast is looking glorious. I was in Rosendale today and took a trip up to the trestle and I can tell you the foliage is gorgeous. Check out the picture below.

We’re sitting at about 150 for the half and 50 for the 4.4 miler at the current moment. If you can please register ahead of time so I can make sure I have enough “medals” to give out at the finish line I would really appreciate it.

I’ve been working hard on the awards and they’re looking so good. I know it’s not a PR course, in most cases, but it might be worthwhile to push for one of the age group awards. 3 deep in both Male & Female for 10 year age groups as well as Overall and Masters (40 & Over).

I also want to mention that the 2019 After The Leaves Half Marathon is about 2/3 rds sold out. Make sure you register soon so you don’t miss out. I’ll post a new post after Rosendale Runs with a picture of this years glass and awards.
Register now though!

Besides the looming threat of storms, last night turned out to be a magnificent night to run in Mohonk Preserve. Hopefully you enjoyed the tough first part and the bombing downhill of the final section of the race. Hopefully you enjoyed all the races this year. I know I missed out on the flooding of race 3 but i’m sure it was fun.

Next week is the Fun Run located at Garvans in New Paltz. More details to follow closer to the date.

Finally, I need to work on the program to figure out the points standing and hopefully will have that in the next day or two. Here are the results from all the weeks for the main run and the results for the kids races for the past 2 weeks.

New Paltz XC Summer Series #4 Info

Hi All

Tonight is the last “race” of the series which will be at Spring Farm in  Mohonk Preserve. Here’s a link to the trailhead – https://goo.gl/maps/J5P5qLpFNR5A4Ccz7
We’ll be parking at the upper grass field with overflow parking in the lower lot. Please carpool to save parking spots.

Remember to bring back your bib!

The races will start and finish by the pavilion. There will be at least 1 water stop out on the course. I believe it’s usually by the carriage road intersection near Bonticoug.

Weather is looking hot so please be prepared.

I’m still getting back situated after returning home and will get the Week 3 results up soon. The results will be available for printout from a kiosk tonight.

See ya soon!

Results from night 2 of the NP XC Summer Series

Thanks everyone for coming out on another beautiful summer evening!  We had a new course and while there was some quirks I think everyone enjoyed the race. Thanks again to all the volunteers who help make things go as smoothly as they do. A new stop next week at Williams Lake should also be exciting.

Reminder for how the points work…Top age group finishers in each race will score 6 points; points will be awarded in descending order (5,4,3,2); all finishers will score at least 1 point each race. Highest totals win at end of series. All finishers scoring at least 4 points, and participating in at least 2 races, will receive handmade ceramic awards on the final night.

I’ll be away starting tomorrow so i’ll try to get updates done as soon as I can.

Reminder that you need to bring your bib back next week and/or any future races in the series. Next week the race will be at Williams Lake. I’ll try to send out an email with details the day before the event but look on Facebook for posts from Steve Schallenkamp for more details.

A couple more notes for next week. I won’t be there so Dan and Allan will be helping to do the timing. It’ll be the minimum setup so no results kiosk. I’ll be back for week 4 and will have the extra laptop set up with the results from Week 3 so you can print them out if you want them

Second night of the New Paltz XC Summer Series tomorrow evening!

First, if you ran or picked up your bib for the series last week you must bring it back this week. If you’re carpooling, which we ask that you do, please remember to bring your bib and not to leave it in your car. Also, you don’t need to check in.

Parking
Carpooling, if you can, will be extremely helpful. Parking at the trail site parking on Springtown Rd will be limited to cars with 3 or more runners and for parents with little kids who will be running in the kid’s races. ALL others will need to park in the village and give themselves extra time. I’ve linked to a map that shows some of the village municipal parking.
